FMD 565: 3D Printing

In this class we developed three different projects utilizing our learned knowledge and practiced skills in the program Rhinoceros.

My first project was a jewelry head piece. It was inspired by Ghana's culture and my faith in God. I used the Adinkra symbol  Gye Nyame (The supremacy of God) throughout the head piece.

The second project, I developed a shoe that i created for a client. I interviewed the client with very specific questions relating to their daily habits, work life, social life, and comfort desires. I also studied this client and analyzed their persona and aesthetic.

The third and final project, I partnered with a peer to develop an interactive piece inspired by Yin and Yang. We utilized the body scanner for this project and were able to use our own body scans to develop body plates that resembled our interpretation of the Yin and Yang. We also paired this look with fabric and additional interactive pieces that detach via magnets.
